We are actively hiring a Russian or Ukrainian Linguist to join our team working in Reston, VA. You will be responsible for supporting a government agency and your office with translation, transcription, and interpretation services.
Professional translation and or Interpretation certificates such as ATA, FCICE, CHI/CMI, etc. are desired.
Professional Association Memberships such as ATA, AIIC, TAALS, NAJIT, IAPTI, NCIHC, etc. are desired.
Linguists must be willing to travel several times per year with trips lasting one month or longer.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree desired. PhD degree desired.
- Three years minimum of work as a professional translator or interpreter within the last 5 years or recently completed M.A. degree in Translation or Interpretation
- Translation into English and source language(s)
- Editing of written products
- Summarizing/Gisting while drawing upon linguistic or cultural expertise.
- Translation Related Services
- Interpretation between English and source language(s)
- Must pass customer testing ILR Level 4-5 in Russian and ILR Level 3+ or higher in Ukrainian.
- Consecutive note taking, conference interpreting.
- Editing
- Experience with technical and military terminology.
