Network / Infrastructure Engineer (2024-0180)
We are actively hiring a Network / Infrastructure Engineer with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph to join our Mission Technology and Solutions Business Unit, working in Chantilly, VA.
Seeking a strong candidate to support customer mission-driven activities. The successful candidate must be familiar with internet-based infrastructure procurement, creation, and operations & management (O&M) through various means and methods. Must be able to keep detailed records of passwords and other resource information and work with other personnel on specific requirements and needs. Must have Linux proficiency to manage virtual network activities for the customer.
Required Qualifications:
Ability to meet with customers at all levels to discuss virtual infrastructure needs, problems (with proposed solution), and near/long-term changes to the infrastructure architecture that may be needed in support of mission activities; Ability and experience to create, configure and support VMs; Ability to work with the procurement organization for equipment that may be needed to support VM infrastructure; Experience and ability to work with customer partners where network interconnections occur to ensure uninterrupted data transfers via network routing. This includes from the VPNs at the edge back to and through the network infrastructure; Experience working with cloud-based architectures (Amazon EC2, Microsoft Azure, etc.); Linux proficiency in virtual environments at the command line to include firewall configuration; Ability to work well in a dynamic environment, with tight deadlines and evolving priorities; Ability to create and innovate solutions in-house to address unique requirements; Minimum of 3 years relevant experience with degree, or 5 years without.
Desired/Optional Qualifications:
Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (OSI mode l and IP subnetting basics) and familiarity with data transport protocols and tools (e.g. SFTP, SMTP, HTTPS, etc.); Experience with network security appliances and encryption fundamentals (Wireguard, OpenSSL, asymmetric cryptography, etc.)
